Introduction
For lunch, my mum decided to try something different. She had seen this outlet on the delivery app and noticed that it was started by a local celebrity. Fresh sandwiches and cold bubble tea are the perfect solution to cool off on a warm day.
The first thing we noticed was how atas the packaging looked. The sandwiches themselves were also a pleasant surprise.
Food Review
Balsamico Portobello Mushroom Avocado
I had the Balsamico Portobello Mushroom Avocado toast. The toast itself was a simple buttered white bread that was delightfully toasted. The main star of the toast is the savoury mushrooms.
Since this shop is primarily about their teas, their sandwiches came with the option of three tea-infused sauces. I opted for the Yuzu Oolong Wasabi Mayonaise. On top of the already delicious mushrooms, the sauce was slightly sweet, sour, and with a very mild wasabi taste. Other than the mushroom, the avocadoes were also quite heavy. I think the lettuce and my option of sauce helped to counter these strong and heavy flavours.
I love that there’s a solid vegetarian option and I’m interested to try their other sauce flavours.
My mum agrees that the toasts are value-for-money, when considering the ingredients, taste, and the presentation. My usually indifferent dad gave a thumbs up and said that his Chicken Katsu with Garlic Bread was “to his taste”. This is a high compliment from the family patriarch.
Signature Assam Milk Tea with Black Pearls and 0% Sugar
Teabrary is mainly a tea store, so they offer a variety of teas from Taiwan which include both fruit and milk teas. I opted for something safe, which was their Signature Assam Milk Tea with Black Pearls and 0% sugar. I’ve got to a point where I prefer having no sugar in my milk teas because it usually brings out the flavour of the tea more. I don’t have much to say about the tea except that I liked it. But if I were to order from here again, I’ll definitely try some other more unique flavours.
Final thoughts
Pleasantly surprised! I think it’s still considered expensive but worth a try if you’re in the mood for something different. I think this would be the perfect light meal for a catch up with friends.
