Review
Suntec City is crowded during dinnertime on weekends, but Paik’s Noodle didn’t have too long of a line. We managed to get a seat after a short wait. We’ve eaten here before, but I never did a review on it. Here’s my review~

These black bean sauce noodles are the signature thing to order here, and for good reason. They just hit the spot. I love the noodles, the sauce and the onions. Unfortunately there’s not much meat so don’t get your hopes up. This time, we also weren’t served the danmuji (pickled radish) which would have paired really well with the noodle. I was too shy to ask and the staff looked really busy anyway.
Bokkeum Jjamppong ($17)

This is a stir-fried spicy seafood noodle which is normally in a soup version. This stir-fried version looked new, so I was curious to try it. I liked it! The noodle had a decent char, and I liked the sauce. It wasn’t too spicy so I could enjoy it properly.
Gochu Yurinyuk ($23)

We had previously ordered their signature tang suyuk, or sweet and sour fried pork, but this time we decided to try the fried chicken with chili pepper and soy sauce instead. Unfortunately, the chicken was sold out, so we had to settle for the pork version.
The sauce came on the side, so the pork itself was not spicy (in case you are eating with people who can’t eat spicy foods). The batter was light and crisp, not exactly crunchy, but definitely not soft. This was addictive and not too heavy, would order again.
Final thoughts
The final bill came up to about $60 after GST and service charge which was a little bit pricey for two people. Granted, the food was good and the portions were pretty big. For somewhere in the middle of town, I think this is still ok. Definitely a more accessible spot for these particular Korean dishes. I think it’s best to come in a group so you can try more dishes.
